Shura hails BDF participation in Gulf Shield 1

Manama, Apr. 16 (BNA): Shura Council, in a statement, expressed pride in the participation of Bahrain Defence Force in the Gulf Shield 1 military exercise patronized by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in the presence of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and a number of leaders of Arab and friendly countries. The Shura statement attached great significance to reinforcing the security and military system of the GCC countries to counter threats to the region, chiefly terrorist organisations.  The statement said the military exercise was organized amid terrorist attempts to undermine security, stability and progress of Bahrain and other Gulf countries. It stressed Bahrain’s commitment to work together with Gulf states to eliminate all forms of violence and terrorism.  It praised the outcomes of the 29th Arab League Summit, which boost joint Arab action and stand against plots target stability of Arab states.  It lauded endeavour of Arab and friendly leaders to achieve the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people for the establishment of an independent state with East Al-Quds as its capital.
