Southern Governor receives British ambassador

Manama, Apr. 17 (BNA): Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa received British Ambassador to Bahrain Simon Martin. He lauded deep-rooted historic relations of friendship between Bahrain and the United Kingdom and growing bilateral cooperation in various fields.  The Southern Governor reviewed with the British ambassador issues of common concern, pointing out the development march of the Southern Governorate and the remarkable role of the governorate in boosting security and stability, being a pre-requisite for growth and prosperity. The Southern Governor wished the British ambassador every success in his duties to achieve the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of both countries. The British ambassador voiced the British government's appreciation of historical ties binding both countries, stressing keenness on bolstering bilateral cooperation mainly in the security field. He thanked the Southern Governor, wishing the Southern Governorate more progress and prosperity.
