SK Chemicals starts operation of biodiesel plant

SEOUL, March 4 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's SK Chemicals Co. said Wednesday it has
started commercial production at its biodiesel plant with an annual production
capacity of 120,000 tons.
SK Chemicals has spent over 30 billion won (US$19.3 million) to build the plant
in Ulsan, an industrial city about 400 km southeast of Seoul, the company said.
Biodiesel is a non-petroleum-based diesel fuel made using vegetable oil or animal
fat, which can be used in unmodified diesel-engine vehicles.
