Work on agricultural lab centre launched

Manama, Apr.18 (BNA): Work on a world-standard centre for labs and agricultural researches was given the go-ahead. The two-storey milestone which covers 1,117 square metres will be built as part of the pilot agricultural village in the Hawrat A’ali. The project is in line with the vision of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and Head of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) Consultative Council to develop sustainable agriculture, promote food security and protect animal and plant health. Undersecretary for Agriculture and Marine Resources Shaikh Khalifa bin Isa Al-Khalifa paid tribute to HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, hailing her directives to set up the world-standard centre which will be run through a smart system. He underlined the crucial importance of the new milestone which will be used to optimize production, protect soil and water natural resources and promote agricultural researches.
