Premier patronizes book launch

Manama, Apr. 18 (BNA): HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa today attended the launching ceremony of the first edition of a book titled (The Majlis of the Premier) written by founder and President of Ahlia University, Professor Abdullah Al-Hawaj.
HRH the Prime Minister stressed that the Bahraini majlises are a model for a unified and strong country thanks to the qualities of cohesion and coexistence enjoyed by its people. He said the majlises provide an opportunity to meet citizens and to learn about their needs and aspirations.
HRH the Premier said Bahrainis have inherited the tradition of holding majlises from their fathers and grandfathers, which are a way to strengthen communication among citizens, they are also means of promoting national unity and social solidarity.
HRH the Premier emphasized significance of preserving the identity of communities, as well as their genuine customs and traditions. He called for maintaining the majlises for their vital role in serving the homeland and reinforcing national unity.
HRH the Premier commended the writer’s efforts to produce such a book that documents citizens’ interests, discussions and views exchange at the weekly majlises sessions, wishing him more successes to come.
HRH the Premier took pride in cultural diversity that reflects the originality of the history and beliefs of Bahrain's community, pointing out the importance of raising citizens’ awareness of boosting social cohesion and national unity.
A documentary was played demonstrated the role of HRH Prime Minister’s Majlis in raising discussions tackling national issues.
Professor Al-Hawaj presented a copy of the book to HRH the Premier. He gave a presentation of the content of the book and participations of a number of officials, intellectuals, businessmen, journalists and media figures in the discussions raised at the majlises.
He also presented HRH the Premier with a commemorative medal. Then, HRH the Premier honoured those who contributed to the preparation of the book.
The book introduction contains a speech by Deputy Prime Minister, HH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, who affirmed that HRH the Premier’s personality will remain an unending symbol, and that his Majlis will be a motivational platform to serve the homeland and citizens.
HH the Deputy Premier lauded the book that highlights HRH Premier’s discussions and visions said during his Majlis sessions. He lauded the writer’s efforts and those contributed to its production, whishing them further successes to achieve.
The book introduction comprises a speech of Southern Governor HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, who said HRH the Premier’s vision on giving citizens top priority deserves to be an example to follow, adding HRH Premier’s Majlis embodies a vital aspect of the open door policy.
He said the Majlis is an open platform for expressing thoughts, ideas and aspirations, noting the strong presence of journalists, intellectuals and businessmen and their participations in the discussions take place there.
The introduction also contains a speech of Chairman of Bahrain Basketball Association, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, who highlights the solid relationship between HRH the Premier and citizens.
He said the Premier’s Majlis reflects the real image of the Bahraini community, where HRH the Premier welcomes various social spectrums of various beliefs, religions and cultures to meet and communicate.
