Bahrain-UK historic ties hailed

Manama, Apr.18 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa deputized His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to attend a ceremony hosted by the British Embassy in Bahrain, marking the 92nd birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Addressing the event, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa extended congratulations to HM the Queen, hailing her tremendous efforts to serve her country and her support to international cooperation with UK allies. He commended strong bilateral relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, spanning more than 200 years of deep-rooted friendship and solid partnership. He hailed long-standing historic partnership, strong alliance and deep-rooted friendship, lauding the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa and HM Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. He stressed the importance of the joint partnership in consolidating regional security and stability and confronting common challenges. He lauded strong relations binding the two countries, which yielded military, education and economic milestones. He cited in this regard the opening of the British Naval Facility by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier and His Royal Highness Prince Andrew of York. He hailed the naval facility which, he said, ushers in a new phase in joint military cooperation between the two friendly countries. He underlined the launch of the first Bahraini edition of the Pitch@Palace Bahrain 1.0 under the patronage of HRH the Crown Prince and HRH Prince Andrew, who inaugurated also the partnership project between the British University of Bahrain and the University of Salford, Manchester. British Ambassador to Bahrain Simon Martin addressed the ceremony thanking HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, for attending the ceremony on behalf of HM the King. He lauded long-standing historic relations which date back to more than two centuries, marked by solid cooperation.
