Khalid bin Hamad launches champions initiative

Manama, Apr. 19 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, Honorary President of Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation, has launched the "Champions Without Limits for Military's Injured" initiative. "We would like to express our delight in your presence at this gathering which is one of our initiatives to support our brothers from #Challengers and especially the injured who didn't spare any effort in defending this beloved Kingdom," HH Shaikh Khalid said. HH Shaikh Khalid added that this initiative aims to perform the directives His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to ensure appropriate conditions and encourage the injured in the community. "We are proud of your selfless efforts in serving their faith, homeland and HM the King" His Highness said. His Highness’s initiative aims to complete the sustainable development goals in the sports field, enhance the foundations of peace and progress in the community especially in health, education and collective community partnership. His Highness instructed the association to provide the best environments to encourage them to show their talents and abilities. His Highness appreciated the efforts of the association led by Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa for preparing for this event. The competitions include weightlifting, table tennis, bow-and-arrow, paddling, athletics, volleyball. His Highness delivered a speech in which he commended the injured on their selfless efforts that history will record and Bahrain will not forget, that make them the pride of coming generations who will remember their achievements. The festival started with the Royal Salute and a recitation from the Holy Quran. The association’s president in his speech expressed gratitude and appreciation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for supporting the #Challengers. His Highness honoured a number of personalities and injured personnel commending their services to the beloved homeland.
