Riyadh, March 04, SPA -- Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Mohieddin Khojah,
Minister of Culture and Information said here last night that the
convening of Riyadh International Book Fair is one of the ideas of
the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz,
who had also conceived the globally famous idea of Dialogue.
In a statement at the opening ceremony of the Fair, he also
disclosed that King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz is also behind the idea of
research on the culture of others, and behind the call for dialogue
with everyone at home and abroad, adding that the King had conceived
the idea of dialogue with others in culture, religion and science in
all walks of life.
He affirmed that the world has become a global village and that
there is an urgent need to continue with civilized, cultural and
human communications, so as to identify the thought of others, and
also communicate our ideas to them in order to promote better global
understanding. "This has been the message which we have all been
directed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to carry forward."
"This Book Fair is an extension of the other book fairs, and we have
taken into account a platform based on our faith and our principles,"
he added.
