BOC obtains third ISO 9001 certificate

Manama, Apr. 22 (BNA): Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) has received the ISO 9001 certification for its quality management system for the third consecutive year. ISO 9001 is an international standard related to quality management, applicable to any organization from all types of business sectors and activities. It provides a framework to respond to changing quality requirements in balance with society, economics and environment. The certification was granted as representatives of French firm Bureau Veritas Certification, which handles the ISO certification, made some auditing procedures on BOC directorates’ administrative work to ensure their commitment to the quality system. BOC Strategic Planning manager Hasan Abdullatif attributed this achievement to the significant support from representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to the committee. Abdullatif also noted that the efforts of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar played a major part in the committee winning this award for the second year in a row. He added that having granted the ISO 9001 certification is in line with the strategic plan of the committee, and asserted the hard working efforts of the Strategic Planning Directorate and coordinating together with other directorates of the committee, which contributed to this achievement. Abdullatif said the consistency from the BOC to obtain this certificate represents a major boost for all committee staff to continue to show their best and work harder in order to maintain the outstanding reputation of the committee.
