Electricity Minister receives Irish ambassador

Manama, Apr. 23 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza received Irish Ambassador to Bahrain Joseph Anthony Cotter and senior officials of the leading Irish electrical company ESBI International.  They reviewed bilateral relations in the fields of electricity, water and renewable energy as well as the latest projects implemented by ESBI. Dr. Mirza underlined support of the Bahraini government for all foreign investments in the electricity, water and sustainable energy sectors. He said this comes as part of a policy to enhance cooperation with the private sector. He praised the ongoing efforts of ESBI in implementing projects in Bahrain which, he said, date back to more than 40 years. The ambassador and the audience thanked the minister and the officials for the good welcome and hospitality and said Bahrain’s laws and regulations encourage foreign investment. They also stressed the senior officials' open-door policy to meet investors and support them.
