South Protectors military exercise on track

Manama, Apr. 25 (BNA): The National Guard Director of Staff, Major-General Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Khalifa, reviewed today aspects of the stages of the South Protectors command-level military exercise implemented by the National Guard Units, in the presence of Special Operations Unit Commander His Highness Major Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa and senior officers.
The Staff Director stressed that the implementation of quality drills at command level by the National Guard affirms the National Guard advanced training, readiness and capability to decisively deal with any circumstances that may threaten the homeland’s stability.
He pointed out that the command-level drills by the units were part of the series of Strategic Vision 2020 undertaken by the National Guard in line with the aspirations of His Highness Lt-General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, President of the National Guard, of building National Guard units and their preparation at highest level of readiness.
He added that the "South Protectors" drill constitutes an assessment experience regarding the speed and level of the Command and Operational Response to implement the mechanisms of dealing with crises, raise collective and individual capabilities to achieve optimum levels of coordination and joint defence, train on the application of various combat tasks as per defence plans, boost the capability to carry out more than one military task, the cooperation and coordination as well as the exchange of military assistance and support.
