Speaker affirms solid Bahraini-Indian relations

Manama, Apr. 25 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, has stressed the importance of Asian parliamentary coordination and coordination in supporting areas of comprehensive development, and strengthening relations among Asian countries amid the current economic challenges, calling for the need to unify Asian parliamentary stances to combat terrorism, and eradicate extremism and violence. While receiving an Indian parliamentary delegation, in the presence of MP Ahmed Qarata, Al-Mulla stressed that Bahrain, within its foreign policy, is keen to support effective parliamentary diplomacy and strengthen relations with friendly Asian countries. The speaker valued highly friendly India’s stances in solidarity with Bahrain and its security, affirming the kingdom’s supportive stances towards India in confronting terrorism. He lauded the support enjoyed by the Indian expatriate community in Bahrain, in line with the authentic Bahraini social culture, as well as the depth of bilateral relations. He also praised India’s stance during the Human Rights Conference in Geneva during the presentation of Bahrain’s Flexible Work Permit project. The speaker affirmed the depth of the long-standing Bahraini-Indian friendship relations, wishing the Indian delegation a successful visit to Bahrain. Members of the Indian delegation expressed their country’s admiration for Bahrain’s achievements and democratic strides, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. They stressed that India’s government, parliament and people are proud of their country’s distinguished relations with Bahrain, hailing the kingdom’s advanced labour, tourism, legal and humanitarian procedures.  They also affirmed that the Bahraini society’s tolerance and co-existence promote the kingdom as a favourable destination for tourism, work and investment for everyone.
