S. Korea, U.S. agree on annual anti-terror exercise
INCHEON, March 4 (Yonhap) -- South Korea and the U.S. on Wednesday agreed to hold a joint annual anti-terrorism exercise to help enhance aviation safety, the Korea Airport Corporation (KAC) said.
A memorandum of understanding signed between the KAC and the Eighth United States
Army stationed here calls for yearly anti-terror drills on handling explosive
materials and reinforcing bilateral information and technology exchanges,
according to KAC officials.
The first exercise will be held in May at Gimpo International Airport in Seoul
ahead of a special summit between South Korea and the Association of Southeast
Asian Nations, set to be held on South Korea's Jeju Island in June, the officials
said.
