Industry Minister meets Kuwaiti counterpart

Kuwait, Apr. 26 (BNA): Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani met today with his Kuwaiti counterpart Khalid Nasser Al-Rawdhan, on the sidelines of the 25th session of the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organisation (AIDMO) General Assembly. The meeting was attended by Board Chairman of Kuwait's National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises Abdullah Hamad Al Jawa'an, Bahrain's Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Undersecretary for Industrial Affairs Osama Mohammed Al Arayadh and Assistant Undersecretary for Industrial Development Abdulkarim Ahmed Al-Rashid. The two ministers reviewed bilateral relations and cooperation regarding mainly issues pertaining to the small and medium companies sector, stressing the importance of cooperation in funding, training and exchanging experience in this respect. They also discussed ways of availing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Bahrain and the USA in the field of small and medium companies. Al Zayani spotlighted the entrepreneurship sector in Bahrain and the government's efforts to map out strategies to develop the sector, pointing out the role of SMEs Development Board which was established in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier to coordinate the efforts of relevant parties from the public and private sectors.
