AGU e-learning specialist wins prize

Abu Dhabi, Apr. 26 (BNA): Mr. Arpan Stephen, e-Learning specialist at the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences in the Arabian Gulf University won the First Prize in Excellence in Leadership in Higher Education at Bett MEA Awards 2018 held in Abu Dhabi. Bett is a global leader in Educational Conferences and Leadership Summits that are organised every year on large scale in different parts of the country. Their main event happens in London every year which attracts around 37000 visitors and is the largest educational exhibition and summit in the world. The primary focus is the latest advancement in Educational technology. Bett MEA 2018 was the 3rd year of Bett Middle East and Africa that was held under the patronage of His Highness SHeikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the ABu Dhabi Executive council in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) and Microsofton 23rd and 24th of April at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi that targeted the Middle East and Africa Region. The awards were a part of the two-day Bett event. There were a total of 150 Submission from the MEA region and few from Europe and 15 of them were shortlisted as finalist for 5 awards categories, out of which only 2 were shortlisted for the Excellence in Leadership in Higher Education award. AGU was the only University shortlisted representing Bahrain. During the Award Ceremony held on the eve of 23rd April, Stephen from AGU was declared the winner for Excellence in Leadership in Higher Education and lifted the trophy on Behalf of AGU. This award was given to commemorate AGU’s Initiative towards digital transformation in Educational Technology and the impact it has made in teaching Medicine. AGU has been driving Innovation through technology in the field of Medicine across the region. This award showcases AGU's achievement in transforming education through technology in the region.​
