Slumdog child actors to feature in Vasu Bhagnani film
New Delhi, Mar 4 (PTI) "Slumdog Millionaire" child
actors Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail and Rubina Ali will feature
in Bollywood producer Vasu Bhagnani's upcoming film "Kal
Kissne Dekha" which also marks the debut of his son Jackky
Bhagnani.
The two children, who were plucked from a Mumbai slum
to star in Danny Boyle's multiple Oscar-winning film as young
Latika and Salim shot a sequence with Jackky Tuesday night.
"There is an airport sequence in the film where these
children are returning home after attending the Oscars and are
caught in some kind of chaos. I am the one who saves them,"
the junior Bhagnani told PTI over phone from Mumbai.
Jackky said it was his father Vasu Bhagnani's idea to
rope in the children for the film.
"It was dad's idea to have Azhar and Rubina in the
film. With the success of Slumdog Millionaire they are very
popular and people would easily relate to them in the movie,"
he added.
The film, which was previously scheduled for release
in March, will now hit theatres in May.
Directed by Vivek Sharma and produced by Vasu Bhagnani,
"Kal Kissne Dekha" will also serve as a launchpad for Vaishali
Desai, the niece of late filmmaker Manmohan Desai. PTI BK
