HH Shaikh Nasser congratulated by BOC

Manama, Apr. 30 (BNA): Bahrain Olympic Committee has congratulated His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth Sports Chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President, following his victory at the Ironman North American Championship in Texas. HH Shaikh Nasser topped the under-49 age category in nine hours and six minutes. BOC board member and president of the Bahrain Table Tennis Association Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa emphasised the win was a result of the efforts made in preparation for the important competitive contest. She described the achievement as a result of the support offered by the leadership and an addition to the series of sports achievements accomplished by HH Shaikh Nasser for Bahrain. BOC’s General Secretary Abdulrahman Askar said it was the second time HH Shaikh Nasser participates in a sporting event in the US in less than a year, which reflects a distinctive image of the Kingdom in the various US states. Shaikh Nasser, captain of the Bahrain Endurance Team, competed along with team members Brent McMahon and David Plese. The Iron Man North American Championship saw the participation of 17,500 athletes from across the United States and the world.
