Third Regional Arab Conference for Child Protection wraps up

Riyadh, March 04, SPA -- In its concluding session held here today,
the Third Regional Arab Conference for Child Protection recommended
drawing up national strategies and plans to prevent and counter
violence against children and building on recommendations of the
study of the UN Secretary General about violence against children.
Conference recommendations required inclusion of effective
multi-sector systems and mechanisms of compulsory notification,
response, intervention and rehabilitation.

The experts and specialists participating in the conference
underscored the need to activation and enactment of the legislations
and laws necessary to protect children, along with mechanisms to
ensure implementation.
