Electricity Minister participates in Arab ministerial meeting on water

Manama, May 1 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza yesterday left for Kuwait to participate in a meeting of the Arab Ministerial Council for Water.
Ministers concerned with water issues in the GCC and Arab countries and the heads of specialised organisations in the water sector will attend the meeting, being held on the sidelines of the Third Arab Water Conference under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait.It is being held under the theme "Arab Integration in Water Resources Management".
Dr. Mirza received an invitation from his counterpart, Kuwaiti Minister of Oil and Water, Eng. Bakhit Shabib Al-Rashidi, to participate in the two-day meeting and conference at the Sheraton Kuwait Hotel. He will speak about the strategic steps taken by the Bahraini government regarding water issues, the unified water strategy, and the importance of water resources.
The GCC leaders are working towards developing a unified water strategy up to 2035, which aims to address the problem of water scarcity in the region and seeks to provide safe and sustainable water resources in the long term.
Bahrain is committed to supporting the initiative of water security and sustainability and fully endorses the participation of the GCC and Arab States in a unified water strategy and the establishment of the necessary frameworks to secure a future for water resources.
