Deputy King receives delegation from United States-Mexico-Canada 2026 FIFA World Cup bid

Manama, May 6 (BNA): The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today received the President of the US Soccer Federation (USSF), Mr. Carlos Cordeiro, the President of the Mexican Football Federation (FEMEXFUT), Mr Decio de Maria, and the General Secretary of the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA), Mr. Peter Montopoli, at Riffa Palace. The Deputy King welcomed the delegation to Bahrain and commended the role of football in bringing countries and people together, as well as promoting the values of fair play, team work and perseverance among youth. The Deputy King highlighted how the Kingdom of Bahrain, under His Majesty King Hamad’s leadership, is committed to further developing the field of sports and to promoting cooperation with global organisations. The President of the Bahrain Football Association (BFA), His Excellency Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, also attended the meeting.
