SIX OIL AND GAS FIELDS TO START PRODUCING IN 2010



Jakarta, March 5 (ANTARA) - The upstream oil and gas regulator, BP Migas, has set a target for six oil and gas fields to start producing in 2010.

Head of BP Migas R Priyono said here on Wednesday that in 2010, the six oil and gas fields were predicted to produce around 3,785 barrels per day and 249 MMSCFD of gas per day.
"The six fields are Bukit Tua, Ruby, South Sembakung, Gajah Baru-Iguana-Naga, Peciko Phase 7, and Gundih," he said.
Bukit Tua is in the category of Ketapang block in Sumatra operated by ConocoPhillips Indonesia Ltd, Ruby in Sebuku block of Kalimantan with Pearl Oil as contractor and South Sembakung in Simenggaris Block of Kalimantan by JOB Pertamina-Medco Simenggaris Ltd as operator.
In the meantime, Gajah Baru-Iguana-Naga field in Natuna Sea, Block A in Sumatra with Premier Oil as operator, Peciko in Mahakam block of Kalimantan by Total E&P Indonesia and Gundih in East Java with PT. Pertamina EP as the operator.
According to Priyono, Bukit Tua field will start producing 1,811 barrels of oil per day and 5 MMSCFD of gas in 2010 and will reach maximum production of 20,926 barrels of oil and 62 MMSCFD of gas per day.
Ruby field will produce 100 MMSCFD of gas in 2010 with the same maximum, and South Sembakung field is predicted to produce 3.39 MMSCFD of gas in 2010 with a maximum of 25 MMSCFD.
The Gajah Baru will produce 11 MMSCFD of gas in 2010 with a maximum of 125 MMSCFD, Peciko with 1,500 barrels of oil per day and a maximum of 80 MMSCFD of gas, and Gundih with 474 barrels of oil per day and 49.84 MMSCFD of gas.
In 2009, the 10 oil and gas fields are predicted to start producing 5.336 barrels of oil and 521 MMSCFD of gas per day.
