Safety and health standards stressed

Manama, May 14 (BNA): Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa stressed Bahrain’s keenness on promoting professional safety and health and protecting lives at worksites. “Bahrain has always been in the vanguard in the region in implementing best practices and international safety and health standards”, he said. He commended leading national companies for promoting professional safety and health in compliance with international standards to ensure accident-free worksites. The Deputy Premier made the statement as he received Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, who was accompanied by members of the committee which organised the 4th National Conference for Professional Safety and Health. They thanked the Deputy Premier for patronising the key conference, which was held late last April, in the presence of more than 400 people representing companies. The Deputy Premier commended the Ministry of Labour and Social Development for holding the conference annually, attracting professional experts, participants and exhibitors from all over the world. Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan thanked the Deputy Premier, commending his keenness on patronising the annual conference.
