Electricity Minister receives Chinese ambassador

Manama, May 22 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received Chinese Ambassador An Waer and praised strong ties between the two friendly countries. The minister and the ambassador reviewed important projects being implemented in the fields of electricity and water. Dr. Mirza gave a presentation on the projects of the Electricity and Water Authority and the Sustainable Energy Unit as well as the National Renewable Energy Plan. He also briefed the ambassador on the 100-mw solar power plant and investment opportunities available to Chinese companies in this and other projects. The ambassador expressed his pleasure to see Bahrain’s progress in the field of electricity, water and renewable energy. He expressed the desire of Chinese companies to participate in these projects according to available opportunities and activate further co-operation. The ambassador thanked the minister and officials for the welcome and the hospitality and expressed his readiness to strengthen the existing cooperation to serve all interests and aspirations.
