Works minister receives Sharjah Municipality delegation

Manama, May 22 (BNA): Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister, Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf, received here a delegation from the Sharjah City Municipality (SCM).  Works Affairs Undersecretary, Ahmed Al-Khayyat, and Assistant Undersecretary for Sanitary Engineering, Asma Jassim Murad, were also present. The minister lauded the depth of distinguished Bahrain-UAE relations, and discussed with the delegation areas of joint cooperation, in addition to topics of mutual concern. The SCM delegation visited Tubli Sewage Treatment Plant, and were informed about the HYBACS' technique used there, as well as on the plant’s operations and maintenance.  They expressed admiration for the general cleanliness of the station, and for the tree-planting and farming activities in the station.  Members of the delegation expressed SCM’s desire to establish a treatment plant using the sing the ‘HYBACS’ technique, following Bahrain’s outstanding success in this regard. They were briefed about all the treatment process stages, using the sing the ‘HYBACS’ techniques, and on the positive aspects of the system, adopted by Bahrain since 2012.
