HM King thanked by BACA president

Manama, May 30 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa received a cable of appreciation from Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities(BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al- Khalifa., who hailed royal support to culture and heritage in the city of Muharraq. She paid tribute to HM the King for supporting the iconic City of Muharraq, whose project “Pearl Trail: Testament to the Island’s economy” features on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. She hailed HM the King’s meeting with a delegation of people from the City of Muharraq, stressing the importance of the “Pearl Train: Testament to the Island’s Economy”, a milestone which will be inaugurated by HM the King in November. BACA president stressed strenuous efforts to revive the long-standing pearling history, being a cornerstone of the Muharraq’s identity, known as the capital of pearls in the region. She underscored the importance of conserving local identity and deep-rooted history, which are reflected in Muharraq rich urban legacy. She hailed the royal keenness on promoting the status of Al-Hedaya Al-Khalifia school, as Bahrain prepares to celebrate next year 100 years of formal education.
