Samsung's digital camera unit to be traded on main bourse

SEOUL, March 6 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Digital Imaging Co., a digital camera maker
affiliated with Samsung Group, will start trading on the main bourse next week,
the bourse operator said Friday.
The Korea Exchange (KRX) said it has granted final approval for Samsung Digital
Imaging, which has separated from Samsung Techwin Co., to list its shares Friday.

In November, the board of Samsung Techwin, now a precision electronics parts
maker, decided to spin off its camera division to boost competitiveness.
Following the spin-off, Samsung Techwin's stockholders were granted a 0.69 share
in the precision parts maker and a 0.31 share in the camera producer in return
for one share, the KRX said.
