Shaikh Isa bin Ali honoured

Abu Dhabi, June 1 (BNA): Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa was granted Watani Al Emarat Award in tribute for his creative initiatives in voluntary and humanitarian work which left a major positive impact on the local and Arab community. The honour was bestowed on him by Watani Al Emarat Foundation in a big celebration held yesterday under the auspices of Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Winners of the 6th edition of Watani Al Emarat Award were honoured in the ceremony marking Zayed centenary which was organised under the theme “This is What Zayed Used to Like”.
Shaikh Isa expressed thanks and respect to the UAE President, government and people for the efforts made to promote voluntary work, thanking Watani Al Emarat Foundation for the honour. He stressed that Shaikh Isa Award for Voluntary Work is a humanitarian project aimed at spotlighting local, GCC and Arab competencies who dedicated time and efforts for the service of other people without any payment in return. Those people have set, he said, iconic models in the societies to inform the world about tolerance and solidarity which are derived from Islam and which characterise the GCC communities.
