Indonesia’s Sahira Starts Collaboration With Langkawi’s Adya Hotel

LANGKAWI (Kedah, Malaysia), June 4 (Bernama) -- Two culinary specialists from Sahira Group of Hotels in Indonesia are currently at Adya Hotel Langkawi in Malaysia's Langkawi island for a 10-day attachment to commence a collaboration between the two hotels. Chef Pepen Ependi and Pastry Chef Hari Maulana have been preparing traditional Sunda delicacies, which are listed on Adya’s Ramadan menu for this year, since last Saturday. Sahira Hotel Group Director Yusuf Hasan said the collaboration was made possible through the efforts of the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (Tourism Malaysia) led by its Indonesia office Director, Roslan Othman. According to Yusuf, the attachment would pave the way for other collaborations between the two hotel groups, which are both promoting Shariah-compliant operations. “I hope our collaboration would not only foster the development of the Malaysian and Indonesian hospitality industry, but also the tourism industry of both countries as a whole,” he told reporters at a breaking of fast event at Adya Hotel on Saturday night. The Sahira Group of Hotels comprised a four-star hotel and two boutique hotels, which are all located in Bogor, a beautiful suburb near Jakarta, Indonesia, and popular for its natural and cultural tourism. “Bogor is a city with beautiful mountainous area with a lot of natural tourism attractions, apart from exotic street foods and leather craft industry,” said Yusuf. Last May, Adya Hotel Langkawi Group General Manager Razmi Rahmat said the hotel would be sending its culinary specialists to Sahira Hotel in August this year to reciprocate the Indonesian hotel’s chefs’ attachment at Adya. “From this culinary collaboration, we plan to move on to other avenues where we could cooperate as we share the same values which are all meant to promote Islamic concept in our operations,” he added. -- BERNAMA
