AZERBAIJANI VICE SPEAKER MEETS IRANIAN COUNTERPART

Tehran, March 6 (AzerTAc). First Vice Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Parliament Ziyafet
Asgarov met here with his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani. During the meeting they
expressed satisfaction with the level of interparliamentary cooperation between
Azerbaijan and Iran.

Asgarov said Azerbaijan is keen to develop “brotherly and friendly relations” with
Iran. He said “nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev placed a particular emphasis on
Azerbaijan-Iran relations, and President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues this
policy.”
Both Asgarov and Larijani stressed the role of interparliamentary cooperation in
strengthening and expanding the scope of the bilateral relations.
Azeri Ambassador in Tehran Abbasali Hasanov was present at the meeting.
