UAE Embassy distributes iftar meals

Manama, June 8 (BNA): The UAE Embassy to Bahrain has recently distributed iftar meals at the Bahrain International Airport, and the Muharraq Souq, as part of its social and humanitarian role. The gesture is part of the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, and within the “Year of Zayed”. The embassy carried out its initiative in cooperation with the Muharraq Charity Society, and distributed 250 iftar meals at the Bahrain International Airport’s Passenger Hall, and a similar number at the Muharrq Souq. Earlier this month, the UAE Embassy had completed the distribution of food packages and Emirati dates, valued at AED 750,000, to needy families across the kingdom. The food packages were provided by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), and distributed in cooperation with a number of charitable associations in Bahrain. They are within the “Iftar Project” launched by the UAE Ambassador to Bahrain, Shaikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al-Nahyan, on May 8. The embassy cooperated with the Hoora Charity Society in implementing the “Ramadan Tent Project” to distribute the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation-supported iftar meals throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
