S. Korea loses to Japan 2-14 in WBC

TOKYO, March 7 (Yonhap) -- South Korea was routed by Japan 2-14 in the second
regional round of the 2009 World Baseball Classic on Saturday.
The game was called after seven innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.
South Korea, which blanked Taiwan 9-0 in the first game on Friday, will take on
China on Sunday for advancement to quarterfinals scheduled to start on March 14
in the United States.
China upset Taiwan 4-1 on Saturday to set up a third-round match with South Korea.
The winner of the South Korea-China game, along with Japan, will now qualify for
the quarterfinals.
