Bahrain lauded as world's cultural centre
Manama, June 25 (BNA): Prince Sultan bin Salman Al Saud, President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage has lauded Bahrain as the world’s cultural centre, and congratulated Bahrain on hosting the UNESCO-affiliated Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage.
HRH Prince Sultan praised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness on preservation of heritage he felt during his meeting with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
Speaking to Bahrain News Agency (BNA) on the sidelines of inauguration of the 42nd Session of the World Heritage Committee chaired by Bahrain, Prince Sultan stressed his country’s supportive stance vis-à-vis the Kingdom of Bahrain, citing the outstanding cooperation between the two brotherly countries in all fields. He added that culture in the Arabian Peninsula was deep-rooted in history, citing the cooperation between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
HRH Prince Sultan described the 42nd World Heritage Committee meeting as a major event that Bahrain is meritoriously hosting thanks to the efforts of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA)’s President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa who continues to provide all capabilities to preserve folk heritage, wishing Bahrain to achieve more of the best cultural accomplishments.
