Electricity Minister receives BSE new Board of Directors

Manama, June 28 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received the new Board of Directors of the Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE), headed by Dr. Zia’a Abdulaziz Tawfiqi and accompanied by its Vice President, Abdulnabi Al-Sabah. The minister wished the new Board all success in development of Bahrain’s engineering sector. Dr. Mirza praised the role of the society in Bahrain’s comprehensive development and contributing to supporting development plans and programmes. The minister said the society could contribute significantly to the development of the engineering sector and meet the needs of Bahrainis in the field. He said he looked forward to further co-operation with the society to raise the capacity and competencies of Bahrainis in the engineering sector through programmes and training plans. Dr. Mirza gave the visitors a presentation on Bahrain’s sustainable energy and discussed organizing an international conference on sustainable energy in January next year under his patronage. The event would be attended by experts in this field from all over the world, who would exchange experiences and expertise on latest technologies. The minister welcomed the idea of holding such a conference and said he would offer his full support. The board thanked the minister and officials for his warm reception and hospitality and for his in the affairs of the society. A number of officials of the Sustainable Energy Unit attended the meeting.
