JAVA SEA SAFE FOR FISHING


Semarang, Mar 9 (ANTARA) - Weather conditions in the northern coastal waters of Central Java on Tuesday (Mar 10) had been predicted quite safe for shipping and fishing.
The waves in these parts, Karimunjawa, and Belitung, had been predicted not too high, and quite safe for fishermen to out into the sea, head of the Semarang Matitime Meteorology Station Retno said in Semarang on Monday.
She also said that the waves in these parts of the country on Tuesday may reach 0.2 to 1.2 meters high with the wind blowing at a velocity of 2 to 10 knots per hour from the north to northeast.
The weather in these parts on the same day has been predicted to be cloudy with light rain in the afternoon and the night.
The height of the waves in these parts on the same day may reach 0,1 to 0,4 meters, but no more than 0,5 meters with the wind blowing from the north at a velocity of 2-6 knots per hour.
In the meantime, the height of the waves in the waters of Karimunjawa and Belitung on that day may reach 0,3 to 0,8 meters, but not more than 1,2 meters.
High tides in the northern coastal waters of the province on Tuesday may reach an height of 1,1 meters at 7 p.m and the lowest 0.3 meters at 1 a.m local time.
