MALAYSIAN PATROL ARRESTS SEVEN INDONESIAN CREW MEMBERS
Kuala Lumpur, Mar 9 (ANTARA) - The Malaysian Maritime Agency for the sounthern region on Sunday stopped and arrested the perpetators of an illegal iron ore transfer by two foreign vessels in Tanjung Ayam waters, Johor Bahru, and held 24 crew members comprising 17 Vietnamese and seven Indonesians.
Head of the Malaysian Maritime Agency Commodore Che Hassan Jusoh told Malaysian media Monday that a Malaysian patrol spotted two vessels in side by side position engaged in a suspicious activity.
The result of an investigation of the two vessels, shows that Quoc Tu Giam registered in Vietnam, and tugboat Berlian 1600 registered in Singapore, were busily engaged in the illegal transfer of iron ore Malaysian waters.
