60 FLIGHTS DISRUPTED AFTER PLANE SKIDS AT SOEKARNO-HATTA AIRPORT

Tangerang, March 10 (ANTARA) - Some 60 flights from and to Soekarno-Hatta airport were disrupted here on Monday evening after a plane skidded while landing in bad weather at the airport.

The chief of airport operator PT Angkasa Pura, Heryanto, told ANTARA the flights were bound for domestic as well as overseas destinations.
He said a total of 11 flights to and from overseas destinations had been delayed.
The delay lasted for 30 minutes to an hour. All the 169 passengers and crew members of the ill-fated plane were safe.
The runway had to be closed until 2 am on Tuesday. During a holiday like this, total number of flights to and from the airport could reach 850, he said.
