RI TAKES PART IN SAJAM GAST INTERNATIONAL FAIR
Jakarta, Mar 10 (ANTARA) - The government and a number of Indonesian business companies took part in the 14th Sajam Gast International Fair in Split the second biggest city in Croatia, March 4-8, 2009.
The foreign ministry in Jakarta disclosed over the weekend that the Indonesian participation in the event was hailed by the Croatian government.
The appreciation was reflected in the visit of Croatian President Stejpan Mesic to the Indonesian pavilion, in the company of the Croatian Tourism Minister, the Split provincial governor and Mayor.
The visit was also an indication of a strong urge of the Croatian government to enhance friendship between the two countries.
At the Indonesian pavilion, the Croatian leader also had the occasion for enjoying Indonesian coffee and instant noodle.
Two hundred participants from 20 countries in Europe and Asia took part in the fair which was an effective means for the promotion of tourism, culture and delicacies in the Adriatic Sea.
This year, Indonesia was represented by the Indonesian embassy in Budapest, Romania, which also oversees Croatia, and the Indonesian Trade and Promotion Centre (ITPC) in Budapest along with some Indonesian companies including PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur (instant noodle and processed food producer), Alita Europe (instant noodle and snacks), Gampong Coffee Aceh, PT. Niramas Utama (coconut jelly) and PT.Toba Surimi Industries (canned fish).
Indonesia had been taking part in Sajam Gast international Fair since 2008.
