FLOOD INUNDATES HUNDREDS OF HOUSES IN POSO

Palu, Central Java, March 10 (ANTARA) - A flood has inundated more than 100 houses at Ranononcu, South Poso sub district, Poso Distric, Central Sulawesi Province, since Monday.

The flood waters began to subside on Tuesday, Toni Podengge, a local resident of Ranononcu, said.
Happening following incessant downpours on Monday, the flood forced a number of villagers to evacuate to higher ground with the assistance of Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) personnel, he said.
Several rivers in the region had overflowed because of the rains, he said.
