Thailand will give financial aids for flood victims in Laos
BANGKOK, July 25 (TNA) – Thailand will give the first financial aids to Laos after a dam collapse released massive water of five billion cubic metres, flooding Attapeu and Champasak provinces.
Hundreds of people are missing and 6,600 people were forced to evacuate.
The Xepian-Xe Nam Noy hydro-power dam under construction collapsed in Attapeu province following heavy rain.
Thai ambassador Kiattikhun Chartprasert will submit the letter of condolence from Thai Prime Minister to the Lao authorities today.
"Hook 31" Rescue Unit in the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima have deployed 15 rescuers, four flat-bottomed boats and two jet skis to help flood victims in Laos.
Khon Kaen Chamber of Commerce accepts clothes donation, which will be given to Lao Consulate in Khon Kaen. (TNA)
