Police seized pirate products worth 2 million baht
BANGKOK, July 26 (TNA) -- Police recently seized pirate products worth about 2 million baht in multiple raids in Bangkok in response to tips from the United States.
Pol Maj Gen Surachate Hakparn, deputy commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau, said investigation based on online information and people’s complaints led to the raids at the Min Buri market and a house on Phetkasem 106 road.
In the raid, police arrested two suspects and seized about 200 products violating US copyrights worth about 2 million baht. The products included Bose bluetooth loudspeakers, Ray-Ban glasses, Nike shoes, Starbucks and Yeti cups, and Adidas NMD-R1 shoes.
Pol Maj Gen Surachate said police were taking serious action against pirate products and would next week go to about 20 places at tourists destinations including Patong beach, Koh Samui island, Pattaya City as US authorities recommended. Online traders were also targeted, he said. (TNA)
