Thank you party for cave boys rescuers postponed

BANGKOK, July 28 (TNA) -- A thank you party, to be hosted by the Thai government for those involved in the successful rescued of 12 young footballers and their coach earlier this month at a complex cave in the northernmost province of Chiang Rai, is postponed indefinitely, said Patcharaporn Inseeyong, permanent secretary for the Prime Minister’s Office. The decision is made after Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha discussed with Interior Minister General Anupong Paojinda and Suwapan Tanyuvadhana, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, and agreed that the majority of rescuers are now assisting victims of a dam in Laos which burst earlier this week. The accident took place at the dam in Laos’ southeastern Attapeu province late Monday, releasing about 5 billion cubic metres of water. Thai government agencies as well as the private sector have rushed necessities to help the Laos victims. The thank you party, earlier planned to be held on August 1 at Dusit Palace - a venue that has been approved by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn - will now be postponed to an indefinite period, said Ms Patcharaporn. However, the party will be held at the same venue at an appropriate date, she added. (TNA)
