HM King’s birthday celebration in Thailand
BANGKOK, July 28 (TNA) -- Thailand’s Bureau of the Royal Household allows Thai people to express their birthday wishes for His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn on the occasion of his 66th birthday anniversary on Saturday, July 28.
From 8.00 am on Friday, representatives of government agencies, senior officials and the members of the public have delivered their birthday wishes and messages on books provided by the Bureau at a pavilion inside the Grand Palace in Bangkok.
The pavilion will be opened again for people to offer their best wishes to the king on Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm.
Since the birthday of His Majesty the King this year falling on Saturday, the government has declared Monday, July 30, a substitute holiday.
In a display of respect toward the King, a farmer in Singburi province planted rice in shapes of number “10,” referring to the 10th king of the House of Chakri, and the message in Thai meaning “Long Live the King.”
He said he prepared saplings on May 1 and continue the cultivation steps; the rice could be harvested in the middle of August. (END)
