Coastguards denies Yemenis' support for Somali pirates

SANA'A, March 10 (Saba) - Yemeni coastguards official denied on
Tuesday the statement of U.S. Admiral Mark Fitzgerald that Yemenis
supply Somali pirates with oil.

This statement is unfounded, the source told the military-run
26sept.net, making clear that Yemen was a victim and the most
affected country by piracy off Aden Gulf and Somali coastline.

Several trade ships and Yemeni fishermen have been attacked several
times by Somalis' pirates and used as human shield, the source said.

Yemeni Navy and Coastguard Forces are trying their best to combat
piracy and to support the international efforts in this regard to
secure international navigation safety and stability in the region.
