Grassroots fair held in Bangkok
BANGKOK, Aug 4 (TNA) -- Realising that products made by the grassroots are significant in moving Thailand’s economy forward, the Commerce Ministry is organising a three-day fair on ‘Power of Local Economy’.
The fair, began Friday and ends Sunday at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani complex, is aimed at strengthening bargaining power of small producers of the local economy level by creating ‘MOC (Ministry of Commerce) Biz Club in every province and offer advices to minor SMEs, explained Kulanee Issadisai, director-general of Business Development Department.
Ms Kulanee said her department is focusing on strengthening the power of small retailers and hopes that the MOC Biz Club which is joining with 15 other agencies could help boost the retailers’ businesses.
The fair which is being held is divided into five zones. They include the display of local products, food and fruits, offering advices on ‘Micro SMES’, business matching, and the area for seminars and discussions among the minor producers and retailers. (TNA)
