HRH Crown Prince receives Chairman of BCCI

Manama, Aug. 5 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today received the Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Sameer Abdullah Nass, and the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, HE Zayed al Zayani, at Riffa Palace. During the meeting, His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of strengthening the role of the private sector as the main driver of the Kingdom’s development by enhancing the business environment and diversifying key sectors.  His Royal Highness noted that the goal of delivering sustainable development is enshrined within Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, which seeks to create the necessary infrastructure to support investment, encourage entrepreneurship and provide opportunities for citizens. HRH the Crown Prince noted the importance of initiating programmes to diversify and increase government revenues in order to capitalise on the Kingdom’s long-term economic growth and ensure its sustainability. HRH the Crown Prince further stressed the importance of strengthening the efficiency of government spending in order to serve the Kingdom’s key sectors, to meet the requirements of sustainable development and to facilitate quality opportunities for the Kingdom and its citizens. His Royal Highness went on to highlight the role of the BCCI in supporting economic development and increasing the private sector’s contribution to GDP, in particular through programmes to strengthen small and medium enterprises (SMEs).  The Chairman of the BCCI expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet with His Royal Highness and to discuss how BCCI can further contribute to the Kingdom’s economic development.
