Digital Park Thailand project to start early next year
BANGKOK, Aug 15 (TNA) -- The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE) expects the construction of the Digital Park Thailand to begin in the East early next year.
Digital Economy and Society Minister Pichet Durongkaveroj said the state and the private sector would jointly invest in the project and his ministry already proposed the prime minister form a committee to select a co-investor from the private sector to realize it.
The committee will have the permanent secretary of the DE Ministry as its chair and members will be representatives from concerned organizations including the Eastern Economic Corridor Office, the Board of Investment, the Budget Bureau, CAT Telecom, the Office of the Attorney-General and the Public Debt Management Office.
The committee will work out an invitation for private investment, the selection of the contractor and the co-investment contract.
DE Permanent Secretary Ajarin Pattanapanchai said the official invitation would be completed in October, the contractor would be selected within next January and the project development contract would be signed within next February.
She also said that the Digital Park Thailand project included the 1.67-billion-baht, 30-rai IoT Institute that would produce personnel in digital and relevant industries.
The human resource production could start before the completion of the Digital Park Thailand project and the DE Ministry was discussing the development of the institute with Kasetsart University’s Si Racha campus, Miss Ajarin said.
The Digital Park Thailand project will be built on a 500-rai plot in Si Racha district of Chon Buri province. (TNA)
