Shaikha Hessa bint Salman Voluntary Work Award nominations open

Manama, Aug. 15 (BNA): The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) announced the launch of Shaikha Hessa bint Salman Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Youth Work in its third edition. The SCW pointed out that the launch of the third edition of Shaikha Hessa bint Salamn Al Khalifa Voluntary Youth Work Award comes after the highly successful previous edition in the quality of the work presented both individually and collectively, reflecting the values of voluntary work in Bahrain and the aspiration of young Bahrainis of both genders to do good deeds. The council explained that the award includes numbers of standards, including aspects of the voluntary project, the parties with whom it was cooperated and supporting the target groups of the project and the positive effects provided to them, the experience gained and obtaining certificates in the field of project, the previous contributions of the project owner or the other volunteer projects and finally personal interviews, while the award includes cash rewards for the best two volunteer work at the individual level of BD 10,000 for the first place and BD 6,000 for the second place, The collective level is worth BD 14,000 for the first place, and BD 10,000 for the second place. The award aims to promote the concept of volunteering and highlight its moral value as a national and humanitarian duty, and to promote the role of individuals and groups in achieving creativity and sustainability of voluntary projects and enhancing the spirit of competition and highlighting youth initiatives in the implementation of community-oriented projects. The award for volunteerism is one of the initiatives of SCW to support the spirit of volunteering among young Bahrainis, thus enhancing the volunteer work of young Bahrainis of both genders and encouraging them to initiate and innovate for others in a well-known field which Bahrain has witnessed throughout its history and has enriched its civil society.
