Graft whistleblower recruited to be civil servant in anti-graft office

BANGKOK, Aug 31 (TNA) - Panida Yotpanya, the 23-year-old intern who exposed irregularities at the Khon Kaen Protection Center for the Destitute earlier this year will become a civil servant at the office of Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission in Khon Kaen. Her action to reveal suspected corruption led to nationwide investigations into disbursement of the state fund for the underprivileged. The irregularities were found in 67 provinces and 11 senior officials of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security were sacked for their involvement in corruption. Ms Panida was promised a job by the ministry’s senior official after graduation. She has been offered a job as a civil servant at the office of Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission in Khon Kaen. The process to fill her in the position there is expected to be finished by the end of this year as a reward to her contribution to the country. (TNA)
