INDONESIA MOST POPULAR TOURIST DESTINATION IN ASIA
London, Mar 12 (ANTARA) - Indonesia has been declared as the second best and most popular tourist destination in Asia by Go Asia, a German private tourism institute, in Berlin Wednesday.
Thailand and Malaysia had been declared respectively the best and third best tourist destination in Asia, said Agus Priono, first secretary for social and cultural affairs at the Indonesian embassy in Berlin said here Thursday.
In the meantime Go Asia also declared the best hotel in Asia, the best innovative Asian tourism package, the best Asian airline company, the best Asian tourism representative office, and the best German tour operator for Asian destinations.
The number of German tourists to Indonesia last year increased 22.6 percent compared to those in 2007, while Indonesia was also considered as one of the best tourist destinations in Asia.
