Flash flood in Lop Buri
LOP BURI, Sept 4 (TNA) – Several hours of downpour triggered a flash flood in Lop Buri, causing traffic snarl this morning.
The accumulated rainfall was measured at 141 millimetres. Four sub-districts in the provincial seat have been flooded. A busy intersection, connecting to Phaholyothin Road is under 50 cm. of water, leading to traffic congestion during rush hour. Many cars have broken down on flooded roads.
Police, disaster relief officials and volunteers help local residents move their belongings to higher ground and closely monitor the water situation.
In the northern province of Nan, heavy rain triggered flash flood and mudslide in two districts-Thung Chang and Song Khwae. Eighteen houses and a bridge were damaged. (TNA)
